We’re taking out a small barn playhouse today. It was built by a customer for his kids many years ago, but it’s pretty worn out now. It’s probably just a home for raccoons now anyway, so the customer decided that it’s a good time to remove it, which is where we come in. We remove all kinds of junk at Schott Services and this barn is no exception! If you need junk removed, call or text the number at 317-784-8760 or email HappyDumpTruck@gmail.com for a quick, free estimate on price.
This barn demolition was completed in the summer, when it’s easy to drive our truck into backyards. We get lots of calls for barn removals earlier in the year, but it’s hard to do them at that time because of how soft the ground is in the spring. It’s soft enough that our truck digs into the dirt as it rolls into the backyard, and so we have to be a lot more careful. We wouldn’t want to make tracks in your yard with our truck, after all!
But since it’s summer time, we’ve got our truck backed into the yard and ready for hauling no problemo! We’re hoping that we'll be able to fit the entire barn onto the truck bed. It's always satisfying to complete a job in one go. However, if we can't fit everything, we’ve got our trailer ready to move the rest of the barn.
As we work, we’re making sure to stay safe and follow all the necessary precautions. Wood falling on you is no fun! With our mini skid steer and grapple attachment, we safely demolish the whole structure and begin to load the pieces onto our truck.
We pile the planks and beams of the barn onto our truck, building a tower on the truck bed ever higher like Jenga. Eventually it gets so high that building the tower any higher would be unsafe, so we bring out the trailer. One more Jenga tower built on the trailer later, and the barn is all ready to haul away! It’s always a good feeling to see a job through to completion, and this one was no exception. We’re proud of the work we do at Schott Services.
